How to get here
Hov Hestegård is located in the small district Hov on Gimsøy central on the Lofoten Islands, less then an hour drive from most of the main hotels and tourist attractions. Hov is about 45 km South-West of Svolvær and about 50 km North-East of Leknes. From either direction, follow the main road E10 and turn North by the bridge Sundklakkbrua on Gimsøy, following signs saying “Hov”. About 1 kilometer past the local golf course Lofoten Links you find the horse farm on the left hand side of the road.

From Oslo Gardermoen Airport it is a 90 minute flight to Bodø (BOO). From Bodø you can fly either to Svolvær (SVJ) or Leknes (LKN), both of which are 20 minute flights. Widerøe operates flights across the Vestfjorden 6 times a day. Flights all the way to Svolvær or Leknes may be booked here: www.sas.noor www.wideroe.no.
From April 2017 there will also be possible to fly non stop to Svolvær or Leknes from Oslo Gardermoen 4 times per week and 6 times per week during the summer season. You can find your tickets here: www.wideroe.no.
Due to Lofoten’s mainland road link, it is also possible to fly from Oslo Gardermoen to Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes. There you can hire a car or catch the bus to Svolvær or Sundklakk (https://www.177nordland.no/index.php?ac_id=280&ac_parent=280) with the possibility to get a pick up from either of those locations.
Generally we recommend our guests to rent a car in Lofoten, since it is a bit challenging to get around by bus and you get a better chance to see more of Lofoten with a car.
There are many different rental car companies in Lofoten and at the Harstad/Narvik airport, for example Avis, Budget, Hertz, Sixt Bilutleie and Rent A Car Lofoten(http://www.rentacar-lofoten.com/index.php/NO/)
